Product Design and Development
Whether it is current product support or new product development, our Engineering Consulting Services group has experience supporting both of these types of service. Click Here for More Information
3D CAD Modeling
Alan Barry uses SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor and PTC Creo (Pro/Engineer) as our primary 3D CAD tools. Our CAD modeling services can support 2D to 3D conversions, representing sketches as 3D models and other general 3D CAD project work. Click Here for More Information
2D Detailing and Technical Drawings
Whether using the 2D functionality of our primary parametric CAD packages or AutoCAD, Alan Barry has capabilities to complete the detailing and drawing requirements for our clients. Click Here for More Information
Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
Finite Element Analysis (“FEA” or “FE Analysis”) is now utilized worldwide in manufacturing to save on time and costs of prototyping by simulating a loading condition on a given component. Click Here for More Information
How Some of our Clients utilize our Remote Services
Many of our clients utilize our Engineering Consulting Services (ECS) as an insurance policy for unforeseen spikes in workload, agile movement to support other groups within a currently supported company (taking away the need to get a new resource up to speed), and world calamities like the COVID – 19 situation we are all dealing with now. The clients that are currently utilizing at least one of our resources full-time, now have the flexibility to add resources without having to interview, assess and ultimately incur time in guiding the potential new resources to the desired level of through-put required. The ABC ECS team can do this all behind the scenes with the goal of mitigating the time required to add greatly needed assistance to a project or team.
Product Design and Development
Alan Barry Consultants ECS (Engineering Consulting Services) Team of Project Managers, Engineers, Designers and Detailers is structured to be flexible to the needs of our clients. A dedicated team can be assembled to tackle entire product development, a focused project or support to existing teams to help our clients get over the proverbial “hump.” These teams can be assigned to client sites (Embedded) or work from various ABC locations (Remote).
2D Detailing and Technical Drawings
Our team has the capabilities handle the 2D needs of clients. In a world where most designers prefer to live in the 3D environment, we have the resources to complete shop drawings, layout drawings or other high demand 2D requirements. Alan Barry’s Team understands that every client has differing Standards and Drawing Requirements, thus our team has been cross-trained various 2D platforms and many of the adjunct systems for completing associated documentation that may be needed.
3D CAD Modeling
Our Engineering Consulting Services Team is very agile with respect to 3D CAD knowledge and proficiency. The ECS team is always attempting to cross train our team even if they are not currently assigned to a project or client. With clients utilizing systems from SolidWorks to NX, it is our job to provide resources that can step into situations with a mitigated ramp up period. While Alan Barry Consultants has yet to develop the “plug and play” resource, we do, however, believe our processes and methodologies give us a competitive edge in assimilating to any engineering environment. If the tools required are unfamiliar to any available resource, we will work with clients to provide a mutually beneficial training rate with milestones and goals to ensure our clients are receiving value added assistance.
Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
Finite Element Analysis (“FEA” or “FE Analysis”) is now utilized worldwide in manufacturing to save on time and costs of prototyping by simulating a loading condition on a given component. We utilize FEA to establish absolute or comparison criteria and ultimately determine the safety factors acceptable for your design. Alan Barry’s FEA team is experienced in linear and non-linear problem-solving as well as CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics), frequency response, and many more simulation techniques.
Optimizing your design is another common request that we can use FEA to solve, whether it is to determine the most efficient and cost-effective materials to use or how to simplify a given mechanism. This technique allows parts or assemblies to be iterated upon until certain criteria is reached, thus optimizing the design within the desired constraints.
